I got an interview with Logan Hub!

This is his YT Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHyJuKphBriTAkdLmjODMhg

Anyways, Onto the interview!

I typically ask 20 questions, I know what your thinking: "What is this? Fackin twenty questions?" Yes lol.

Coolio. Hope you don't mind but my narcissism is gonna make me type fucking paragraphs for these answers.

Question 1: What inspired you to start youtube? (Cliche, I know)

1. I actually have four different people who inspired me. Because I started up the youtube channel on four different occasions. First one was in 8th grade and it was the youtuber Wheezywaiter. He inspired me to make a vlog. But the first ever comment I received called me gay so I shut it down. Then Dasboschitt inspired me to make a Gmod channel Freshman year of High School. This also shut down, not because I didn't have views, but because I knew I'd never be a good gmod-er. The 3rd time was actually Pewdiepie before he got popular (he was around 10,000 subs when I subbed to him). I made a lets play channel using a camcorder and various Amnesia mods. Buuuuuuut it was super shitty so I cancelled it. And the final one was JonTron. I wanted to talk about memes in the same style that he talked about video games and movies. So when I first wrote the first Logan Hub scripts, I wrote them as if Jontron was reading them. Which is why the comedic timing is off on my earlier stuff since I am no Jontron.

Question 2: If you play any Video Games, Which one is your favorite?

2. My favorite games are Gmod (gmod Tower to be specific, I just like the feeling of being in a very non cancerous meme community that plays video games and chills in luxery apartments. That's my personal heaven practically!). The others are Dark Souls and the first Devil May Cry.

Question 3: Have you ever thought of quitting Youtube at one point?

3. Luke considered quitting at one point. Neither of us receive money from youtube because, while setting up our adsense account, I was logged into my personal account. So Adsense assumed that Logan Hub was actually my personal account. And when I closed it, it said that the name Logan Hub was taken so I couldn't make a new account. YOUTUBE IS PERMA-BROKE. So Luke thought we should quit since we're only doing it for fame. But now we're both in it 100%. Still not getting paid but we're 100% in it. I assume that if we ever get partnered with someone that they'll be able to fix our adsense account.

Question 4: Where did you get your ideas of your youtube series'? (STOP, Weird Side Of The Internet, EXPLAINED, etc.)

4. The WSOTI's were a 100% original idea. Or at least I thought they were until I remembered that Tosh.0 was a thing. Same with the STOP's. Which is unfortunate because people first assumed I got the idea from GradeAUnderA or IHE. The explained happened because I was a member of a Frat when Charlie Charlie was popular and I had no idea what the fucking it was when all my brothers would freak the fuck out about it. And I assumed a bunch of other people didn't know so I explained it. Which is good because the Charlie Charlie video was the one that kickstarted our channel!

Question 5: Favorite TV Show? And Movie?

5. Favorite TV show is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Favorite movie is a toss up between The Truman Show, Grave of the Fireflies, and Birdman.

Question 6: Have any weird hobbies? (Fapping doesn't count LOL)

6. The Youtube channel is actually my prime hobby. Smoking weed and playing video games isn't so much a hobby as it is disappointing my parents. I guess freelance voice work can be considered a hobby since I've been doing that pretty recently. For example, I am the voice of all Laserforce brand lasertag vests. And I am the voice of the training course for HP monitors.

Question 7: If you do play games, are you considering starting a gaming channel?

7. I actually have considered it, but I don't know if I could go through with it. I predict that gaming channels will die out in 5 years or so, similar to vlogs dying out, and only the big gaming channels will be able to survive. Besides, the lets play community is impossible to break through unless you get a shoutout from an already popular youtuber. That being said, I have a lot of real life friends that want me to be on their gaming channels for that reason since I'm starting to grow. If I did start a gaming channel, it would be with a group of friends so I didn't have to be the main star of it.

Question 8: Any favorite actors?
8. Chris Pratt. Mainly just because I can relate to him the most. And that gives me hope to work in the entertainment industry someday.

Question 9: Any original story ideas or characters you have, and haven't shared?

9. I actually almost wrote a book in college! It was based off of a Gmod map (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=186338096&searchtext=gun+game if you're curious) and it was based around a man from our universe being selected to be apart of a Utopia where everything is centered around entertainment. And that map was one of the challenges that people would watch. I had a journal full of notes and designs for it, but then my fucking mother threw it away and now I have to start all over and I'm pissed.

Question 10: Have you had any old youtube channels? Ones that you have abandoned, after you got your awesome current one?

10. Yep! Just like I said in the first question. I had a vlog channel, a gmod channel, a lets play channel, and now finally this channel! Keep in mind, the most subs I've gotten before this was like 20 on the gmod channel and that was it.

Question 11: Any projects you haven't told anyone? Or just projects in general?

11. Yes, I was going to do a mini anime review series where I would get high out of my mind and try to explain an Anime. The first one was going to be Monster Monsume, but I realized it would be fucking impossible to write for it and it wouldn't be as funny as I thought it would. It would've been around the stylings of the  Top ten halo games video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLNuyXL1JeY)

Question 12: Any collections? Or strange addictions?

12. Nope! I mean I collect reaction images but that has an actual purpose.

Question 13: What was your favorite video to make?

13. My favorite videos to make were actually all of the 5 new videos we just did for season 2, just because I was feeding off the energy of the crew. Besides that, the web scouts, since Nick and I are best friends in real life, so it just felt like hanging out with mah budz.

Question 14: What was your least favorite video to make?

14. Ironically, it was a Web scouts that we did that were Nick and I just went to /r9k/ to see if we could find some weird stuff. I already knew we wouldn't but Nick and Luke thought we would. About 15 mins into it, Nick and I realized we weren't finding anything good so we just stopped.

Question 15: Who is your least favorite person?(Or youtuber)

15. Least favorite person is Hillary Clinton. Least favorite Youtuber is a toss-up between Vegan Gains, Leafy, Lion Maker (or most youtube minecrafters), Dan Bull, FurturisticHub, and Onision. Especially Onision.

Question 16: So you used to be a Brony, Do you have anything else you were when you were younger? (Specifically ones you cringe at lol)

16. Nope. I considered being a furry when I was 14 because of all the porn, but then I saw the specific fetishes and I noped out of there.
Question 17: Any huge fears?

17. False accusations of bullshit and being burgled.
Question 18: Huge regrets?

18. Not having a better clip of Gus Johnson for our Try not to laugh video! I don't mean to blame him because he's my really good friend and this channel would be nothing without him, but Luke fucking cut off the punchline to the joke and I regret it to the day since I'm such a fan of his work! I've never been so embarrassed online ever. That and the entire Pepe the frog video. We could've done it better but now I receive death threats daily. It's not like I mind the death threats, knowing their from ugly people on r9k, but still I could've done it better.

Question 19: Best thing to ever happen to you?

19. One of my college professors was a writer for Universal before the writers strike and she taught me specifically how to become a famous Hollywood actor if I wanted to. So I now have the connections and the knowledge to be a Hollywood actor. That and I was cast as the lead in a school play. I just really fucking like entertaining people, ya feel me.

Question 20: Why are you so awesome?

20. It's the cinnamon sugar swirls in every bite.

Question 21: And finally, How has everything been so far? Doing Youtube, getting a crew, getting fans (Like me) How has it all been?

21. So far, it's been fucking awesome! I even remember getting 200 subscribers and thinking that was fucking awesome! The fact that people outside of my friend group know who I am is amazing, and I still don't understand how an audience the size of a large high school would care what I have to say. I won't truly feel like a true youtube success until I either have 1. Have 100,000 subs. 2. Have fanart and fan fiction written about me (I doubt it will happen but the thought is nice) 3. Have done a collab with a major youtuber. I doubt any of that would happen, but if any of it happens to happen, I will die a very happy man.

So yeah, there's all of that! I can't wait to see the video about this!

It happened on December 4TH, but I was not gonna post it for a little bit, but here it is! You may have even learned some things you didn't know before!

Glad to hear you’re so excited to get my answers. Here they are:

Question 1: Did you work on other games that ran on Dooms engine? Such as: Strife, Final Doom, Plutonia, ETC?

With Heretic and Hexen, I did project management and game design, plus a little programming with the SETUP.EXE, SERSETUP.EXE and IPXSETUP.EXE programs specifically for them.

Question 2: On a personal level, how close are you between: John Carmack, Tom Hall, And Adrian Carmack?

I am still close with Tom Hall and Adrian Carmack, and always will be. John Carmack and I haven’t spoken in 15 years or so.

Question 3: What inspired you and everyone else at Id Software to make the Wolfenstein, and Doom series?

Wolfenstein: I suggested we do a remake of the original Castle Wolfenstein game from 1981, and everyone agreed.

DOOM: This came from our D&D sessions over the years. The D&D world ended when demons overran the planet. We thought it would be a good idea to do in space.

Question 4: How did you and Brenda meet, and get married?

Brenda and I first met in 1987 when I was working at Origin. We kept in touch for years, and worked together on Ravenwood Fair in 2010. We decided to marry in October 2012.

Question 5: How stressfull was the Devolopment of the Doom series, after Ultimate Doom?

Question 7: Did you guys expect every game after (and including) Doom to be so sucsessful?

We did – we had a great formula for design and action, and stayed on top of technology.

Question 8 Where did Doom Guy get his design?

Adrian Carmack sketched, then clay modelled DOOMGUY. Then he video scanned him in and pixel edited him.

Question 9: How did you guys make most of the Gun and Demon sounds?

Bobby Prince did all the sound effects. Most of them came from the Sound Ideas GENERAL 6000 series CDs.

Question 10: Are you aware of mods for Doom that completely change the game? Such as most popular examples like: Brutal Doom, Ghouls Forest 3 (Aswell as Ghouls world, and Ghouls vs Humans), Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch, And dare I say it, Ahem... H-Doom. (Basically a Hentai mod)?

Of course I am – we designed DOOM to do that. People have been doing TCs (Total Conversions) since 1994.

Looks like fun. I’m going to play it.

Question 14: What happened to Daikatana? Do you consider it a failure, or a experiment?

Oh, it was a big experiment that failed. I hired a full team of modders who wanted to make an FPS. They had no experience every making a game before. So, I took a big chance.

Hundreds of thousands?

I didn’t work on DOOM 3.

Collection: game history.

Keen: doubtful as Bethesda/Zenimax are not interested.
